Sharyland:
*The boys golf team took home the Region IV Championship last Tuesday, beating out San Antonio Johnson. The team was led by third-place finisher Juan Rodriguez. Peter Fox came in fifth and Jose Pena finished eighth. The state championships will be held April 30-May 1.
*Standout volleyball player Laura Eberly signed on Wednesday to play volleyball for Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. Eberly helped the Lady Rattlers win District 30-5A this past Fall and was named the district’s “outstanding blocker”.

*Four teams from the Rio Grande Valley were part of the Texas Girls Coaches Association’s most recent softball poll. Mercedes and Edcouch-Elsa were no. 16 and 20, respectively, while Edinburg and Edinburg North were no. 11 and 19, respectively.
