RIO GRANDE CITY – It was a great weekend of wrestling for the local Big Six schools as they competed in the District 31 Championships at Grulla High School. Palmview defended its boys’ championship from a year ago while Juarez-Lincoln won out for the girls.

Justin Pina in the 106 lbs weight division, Enrique Escontrias in the 182 and Christian Garza in the 285 all went away as district champs. The Lady Huskies themselves were able to produce three champions themselves as Jacqueline Mendoza, Mallaly Aleman and Danae Sanchez won in the 95, 110 and 148 lbs, respectively.
