MISSION - Virginia Marie Carter, 88, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 at Life Care Hospital in McAllen. She was born to Earl and Ethel Murphey on Aug. 4, 1922 in Sioux City, IA.
She was a long life resident of Sioux City and the last 17 years of her life she resided in Mission, which became her permanent residence.
Survivors include her sons, Stephen A. Carter III of Omaha, NE and Charles D. Carter of Mission, four grandchildren and a great-grandson.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Stephen A. Carter Jr.; parents; and a sister, Margaret Ericson.
A service of remembrance was held Nov. 23 at Virgil Wilson Memorial Chapel in Mission. Officiating was Pastor Duane Kirshner. Cremation followed at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
