MISSION - Amador Gonzalez Jr., 64, passed away on May 23, 2011, at Doctor's Hospital in Edinburg.
Mr. Gonzalez served in the Air Force and spent 13 months in Vietnam. Following his military service, he was employed for 39 years by General Mills in Illinois before his retirement in December, 2010.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Nereida Noemi Tovar Gonzalez of Mission; children, Lora Gonzalez and Linda Gonzalez of Mission; grandchildren Ricardo Gonzalez, Lucinda Marie Villazana and Alejandro Granados III; a brother Lizandro (Margarita) Gonzalez of Miami; and nephews, Lisandro Gonzalez, Jr., and Bernardo Gonzalez.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amador and Amalia Gonzalez, and a daughter, Lucinda Gonzalez.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 26, from 3-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 27, at 10 a.m. at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mission. Cremation services follow.
