Nowadays you hear of horse whisperers, dog whisperers, even bear whisperers, she was a child whisperer. After 20 years of teaching and 20 students every year, she mastered the art of meeting the needs of each and every one of her "kids." She could make the shyest child come out of their shell. She could take any child and teach them to read. Even the toughest gang member would let his guard down to her. No matter how sad a person was, she could bring a smile to their face. She lived her life to the very fullest and loved to dance and sing. Her favorite color was red, and her garden was her sanctuary. There was not one flower or plant, that she did not know the name for or from where she got it. She was an extremely loving person and was extremely loved. “You will be forever missed.”
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 19, at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Alton. Interment will follow at Garden of Angels Cemetery in Abram.
