MISSION – Agustin Cortez, 77, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011, at Mission Regional Medical Center.
He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Agustin is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Angelita Cortez; children, Hector (Virginia) Cortez of Mission, Agustin (Yvonne) Cortez Jr. of San Benito, Juanita "Janie" (Leo) Hinojosa of McAllen, Jose Luis (Rosalinda) Cortez of Mission, and Melinda (Luis Delgado) Hernandez of Mission; sisters, Adela (Julio) Gomez of Mission and Minerva (Glenn) Martinez of Houston; brother, Gustavo (Carol) Cortez of Marble Falls; and 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Daniel and Juanita Cortez, and a brother, Jose Cortez.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 13, from 1-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, April 14, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Cremation services will follow.
