MISSION - Aroldo Solis, 75, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at his residence in Mission.
Mr. Solis was born in San Isidro on March 24, 1935 to Isabel and Angelina Solis, and grew up in the San Isidro/McCook Area. At the young age of 13, he drove a bus for the Edinburg School District, and worked on a farm until he entered the U.S. Army in 1956. He reached the rank of Sergeant First Class before he retired in 1976.
He is survived by his wife, Felicitas Solis of Mission; children, Aroldo Solis of Edinburg, Armando Solis of Mission, Alicia Cavazos, and Albesa Solis of Palmhurst; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held today, March 25, at 10 a.m. at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mission. Burial followed at Rio Grande Valley State Veteran Cemetery in Mission.
