MISSION – Carolina V. Garza, 80, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012. She was born in China, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on August 15, 1931 to Cristobal and Leonor Muniz Vega.
She is survived by her children, Sylvia Soto of Mission, Santos Salinas of Woodburn, Oregon, Blanca E. Ibarra of Mission, Alvaro Garza of Houston, Joel Garza of Edinburg and Jose C. Garza of Mission; sisters, Angelica Acevedo and Aurora Vega; and 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Santos Garza; sons, Francisco and Jesus Garza; daughters, Maria Magdalena and Annacelia Garza; brothers, Manuel and Esequiel Vega; and sisters, Isabel Montalvo and Concepcion Vega.
A funeral service was held Aug. 6 at Iglesia Nueva Vida in Mission. Interment followed at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
