McALLEN - Christine Jacqueline “Jackie” Kalifa, 23, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, in Mission. She was a happy, loving, caring, extraordinary person with a beautiful future ahead of her. She was loved by everyone she knew and she was always there for those she loved. Although her life was cut short she left behind a lifetime of beautiful memories full of smiles, laughter and love.
Kalifa is survived by her mother, Floriza (Javier) Martinez of McAllen; father Enrique Kalifa III of McAllen; love of her life, Bryan Long; children, Bryan Anthony, Jazmin Ayiza, and Armando Jesus “AJ” Ventura Kalifa Long; brothers, Christopher Kalifa and Jathan Martinez; maternal grandmother, Alicia Lozano and maternal great grandmother, Floriza E. Navarro of McAllen; aunt, Yesenia Y. Lozano of McAllen; and uncle, Armando (Yvonne) Lozano of McAllen. She is also survived by Bryan's parents, George and Sue Long, who loved her like a daughter.
Kalifa was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Armando Lozano.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 19, from 1-9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ric Brown Family Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 20, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
