MISSION - Elpidio Avila Alonzo, 77, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Grand Terrace Nursing Home in McAllen. He was born to Pedro and Ricarda Alonzo on November 17, 1934 in Mexico.
Mr. Alonzo is survived by his children, Pedro Alonzo from Edinburg, Rosalinda Alonzo, Elpidio Alonzo Jr., Juanita Gloria Garza, Sylvia Knight, Ricarda Perez, Josefina Alonzo, Elizabeth Hernandez, Anita Alonzo, Alfredo Alonzo, Jesus Alonzo, Juan Alonzo, and Martin Alonzo, all from Mission; siblings, Albino Alonzo, Espirio Alonzo, Zenaida Limon, and Maria Manriquez; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gregorio Alonzo; sister, Petra Limon; and children, Alfredo Alonzo, Josefina Alonzo, and Enrique Alonzo.
A funeral service will be held Friday, April 6, at 10 a.m. at Flores Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Mission. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Mission.
