OBIT: Ofelia De Leon Chapa

PEÑITAS - Ofelia de Leon Chapa, 86, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011 at Comfort House in McAllen. Mrs. Chapa was born in Mercedes.

Mrs. Chapa is survived by her children, Alfonso Jr. of Penitas, Maria Teresa of Galveston, Maria del Carmen of Mesquite, Israel E. of Spring Valley, CA, and Ismael M. of Edinburg; siblings, Audelia Delgado of Weslaco, Domingo Deleon of Fontana, CA, Estefana Fanny Singleterry of Weslaco; and a grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfonso Mario Chapa; parents, Guillermo de Leon and Maria Teresa Enriquez; and step-siblings.

A funeral service was held Dec. 29 at Virgil Wilson Memorial Chapel in Mission. Interment followed at Laurel Hill Cemetary in Mission.

The family suggested memorial donations be made to the Comfort House, 617 Dallas, McAllen, TX 78501.
