MISSION - Betty Joyce Moreno, 59, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, in McAllen
Mrs. Moreno was born in Granjeno on Sept. 25, 1952. A graduate of Sharyland High School, she became an LVN and worked as a school nurse for 38 years. She worked in the Mission School District, at Mission Hospital and several nursing homes and home health care agencies. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, mother-in-law, and aunt. She will be missed and remembered by all whose lives she came in contact with.
She is survived by her husband, Juan Manuel Moreno; sons, John Anthony Moreno, James M. Moreno, and Michael Jason Moreno; mother, Elidia Roberts; siblings, Elma Garza, James Roberts Jr., and Shari Balderas; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, James R. Roberts
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 29, from 3 to 9 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Flores Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Mission. A funeral mass will be conducted Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 1 p.m. at St. John of the Fields Catholic Church in Mission. Interment follows at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
