OBIT: Carlos Vargas Jr.

ALTON - Carlos Vargas Jr., 52, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. He was born in Edinburg on September 29, 1959.

Survivors include his parents, Calos and Esperanza Vargas; daughters, Arianna (Downey Jr.) Sanchez, Miriam (Juan) Pérez, Melissa Vargas, and Lori Ann Vargas; brother, Ramiro (Imelda) Vargas; sisters, Rosalinda Vargas, Rosanelly Garza, and Rachel (Ted) Almanza; five granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Carlos Vargas III.

A funeral mass was held October 15 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment followed at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen.

Pallbearers were Ruben Cardona, Randy Sosa, Johnny Pérez, Downey Sanchez, Jaime Villarreal, and Gustavo Ramirez.
