PALMVIEW/MISSION - David Andrew “Andy” Guajardo, 22, lost his battle to leukemia on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011. He was born on June 26, 1989, in McAllen, to Pete and Paula Guajardo.
He was a 2007 La Joya High School graduate and attended the University of Texas-Pan American and South Texas College before being diagnosed with cancer in June of 2009.
Survivors include his parents, Pete and Paula Guajardo; brother, Petie Guajardo; sister, Eugina Rae Guajardo; and maternal grandmother, Guadalupe Garza.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eugenio Garza, and paternal grandparents, Pedro and Esther Guajardo.
The funeral Mass was officiated over by Rev. Roy Snipes, O.M.I., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Oct. 10. Burial followed at Benavides Cemetery in Sullivan City.
