The intersection of Westgate Drive (east side of intersection) with Sugar Cane Road in Weslaco is closed from June 2nd to June 16th to widen the intersection. North/South Westgate Drive travel lanes are open.
FM 2061 (McColl Road)
TxDOT continues with an asphalt overlay project on FM 2061 (McColl Road) through July 1st at two locations: from Business 83 to FM 3461 (Nolana Loop) in McAllen and from north of Trenton Road to SH 107 (University Drive) in Edinburg. Motorists should expect lane reductions during this operation.
FM 2557 (Stewart Rd)
Stewart Road from Hall Acres to Juan Balli Road in San Juan is closed until July 29, 2011. Crews are working on a roadway rehabilitation project on FM 2557.
The intersections of Sugar Road (westside) with Minnesota Road and Owassa Road in Pharr is closed May 26 to June 17 to widen the intersections. North/South Sugar Road lanes are open. Eastbound traffic on Minnesota & Owassa Roads will be detoured to south to Jackson Road to Nolana Loop.
FM 2061 (Jackson Rd)
The International Boundaries and Water Commission (IBWC) requested travel lanes on Jackson Road reduced to one lane in each direction from the North Floodway Levee to the South Floodway Levee in South Pharr from April 22nd to October 22nd. IBWC contractor, Longhorn Excavators, Inc. will be installing floodgates at the floodway levees on FM 2061.
US 83 NEW
TxDOT will be reducing the US 83 eastbound main lanes on June 13th & 14th from 9 am to 4 pm each day from Inspiration Road to Conway Road and Bryan Road to Shary Road in the Mission/Palmview area. Crews will be performing pavement repairs.
The following ramps will be closed:
June 13th- Conway & Bryan Roads eastbound exit ramps and the eastbound on-ramp prior to Inspiration Road.
June 14th - Shary Road eastbound exit ramp and the eastbound on-ramp prior to Shary Road will be closed.
The US 83 entrance ramps at Bryan Road in Mission are closed until August 2011. The closure is necessary to accommodate the US 83/Bryan Road overpass reconstruction. The Bryan Road Bridge over US 83 is currently open to traffic.
TxDOT will begin rehab work on the northbound Frontage Road from FM 802 (Ruben Torres) to FM 3248 (Alton Gloor). The rehab work is expected to be completed on July 31, 2011. Northbound Frontage Road expected to be reduced to one lane during rehab work.
SH 48 (Boca Chica Blvd) NEW
SH 48 (Boca Chica Blvd) to close from Korea Street to Central Blvd from June 13th to June 17th in Brownsville. PUB will be installing water and sewer lines.
SH 550 (Formerly FM 511)
SH 550 will be reducing the SH 550 southbound Frontage Road to one lane from FM 3248 to Old Port Isabel Road (OPI) from June 6th to June 20th. Contractor will be working on an overpass in the area.
Business 77 southbound bridge from west of FM 732 to just east of FM 732 in San Benito is reduced to one lane.
Queen Isabella Memorial Bridge
TxDOT Contractor, SCR Construction Inc. of Richmond, Texas is resuming maintenance work on the Queen Isabella Memorial Bridge and is expected to continue through September 2011. The eastbound travel lanes of the bridge are reduced to one lane.
The west intersection of Travis Street and US 281 in Falfurrias is closed until November 2011. This construction work is part of the US 281 project from FM 3066 in Brooks County to Brooks/Jim Wells County Line.
Travel lanes on US 83 are reduced to one lane in each direction and no shoulders from 1 mile North of FM 2687 to South of Tigre Chiquito Creek (approximately 7 miles S. of FM 2687) in Zapata County. Work is part of US 83 project.
Motorists are advised to observe and obey all posted warning, construction, detour and speed limit signs.
