Juarez Lincoln High School FFA members heading to state competition in May

20140425 ADVANCING-LIVESTOCK-JUDGING-TEAMLA JOYA—Juarez Lincoln High School FFA members will be attending state competition after competing in this year’s Area 10 Career Development events in the livestock contest.

The following individuals placed ninthout of 66 teams in Area 10 and are one of only five teams that will be advancing to state. The group is representing the entire Rio Grande Valley at the Texas State FFA Convention.

The team will be competing at Texas A&M University College Station, on May 3. Competing is Victor Castorena, who ranked 18th out of 247 contestants. He was the team’s high point individual and will also be making his second trip to state.

Ashly Bell will also be attending;she ranked 19thand will also be making her second trip to state. Other team members are: Nigel Reyes, Adriana Ruvalcaba and Cindy Mendez as alternate.

The team received a traditional pennant that will be displayed at the front office.
