This is the final week of the 2012 Progress Times Football Contest, and the prize amount this week is now $1,000 – if someone wins the contest when the entries are scored Monday. If no one wins Monday, then the prize amount for the final week will be $1,100.
“We will give the money away to some lucky winner or winners,” said Progress Times Publisher Jim Brunson. “If no one wins the contest under the current contest rules, we will draw the names of two winners from the last week’s entries and award each winner $550.”
Readers are encouraged to enter the contest this week for a chance at the prize money. Who knows? Someone may pick the exact score of the Game of the Week and win $1,100. If not, the names of two lucky contestants will be picked at random to split the prize money.
This year’s contest rules required that to win the $100 weekly cash prize, the contestant must guess the exact score of the Game of the Week on the contest entry form. Since no one has won the contest this season, the prize amount has grown to $1000 this week. The prize amount increases $100 each week if there is no winner.
If no one correctly guesses the exact score of the Game or the Week this week or next week, then after next week’s game two winners will be selected by random drawing and each winner will be awarded $550.
In the event someone does correctly guess the exact score, the full prize amount will be awarded to that winner instead. The tie-breaker rules will apply in the event of a tie.
All entries must be submitted on the Official Entry Form printed in the Progress Times or a photocopy of this form. Only one entry per household per week. Winners from 2011 season are ineligible to win. To be eligible to win, all entries must include name, address, and phone number, and the entry must have the advertiser’s name with the “PT football” for that week. Prizes must be claimed within 72 hours of notification or announcement in the Progress Times. Must be age 14 or older to enter contest. Decisions made by the Progress Times staff are final. The winners agree to allow the Progress Times to use their names and photographs to announce the winners. Employees of the Progress Times are not eligible to win.
Entries must be received by 2 p.m. each Thursday preceding the listed games.
Pick up a copy of the Progress Times and look for the Football Contest entry form on page 12.
