Whether a first-time student, already in college or thinking of returning to college free financial aid opportunities are available for those who qualify. The event will be held at both campuses on Sunday from 2-4 p.m.

Assistance at STC, 3201 West Pecan Blvd. in McAllen, will be available the Student Services Building. Private counseling areas and computers will be available for applicant use and attendants will be available to assist in both English and Spanish.

Applicants must bring in a 2011 income tax return (parent or spouse returns will be required), social security card, a state issued ID, driver’s license or resident alien card and proof of other income benefits (TANF, SSI, etc.). For those planning to attend classes during summer 2012, applicants must also provide a 2010 income tax return. For additional information about financial aid opportunities at STC call 956-872-8311.

Several UTPA scholarship drawings will be held, and CGS will offer a $250 scholarship toward a student’s college textbooks. Door prizes will also be made available. For more information, call 956-665-7562.
