Mission Regional Medical Center celebrates opening of new clinic

20130201 MissionHealthOpening CAB 0007 featureMISSION – MissionHealth, a clinic affiliated with Mission Regional Medical Center (MRMC), celebrated the opening its second location last week with an open house and ribbon cutting.

“We are always looking for ways to continue to serve our community, and I think this is just another way for that to take place,” said MRMC CEO Javier Iruegas. “Our community continues to grow. We’re hoping this continues to provide those services the community needs.”

The new clinic features a warm, inviting atmosphere with three exam rooms, a procedure room, a consult room and a specimen and drawing station for labs. The 2,500-square-foot clinic is located at 1922 East Griffin Parkway, Suite A.

“Our goal is to create a state-of-the-art, healing atmosphere for patients and a positive working environment for staff,” said Jeffery McCaffery, clinic director for Mission Doctors Group, dba MissionHealth.

The two doctors that will be working out of the clinic are two new additions to the MRMC’s Doctors Group, said Iruegas.

Jaspreet Kaur, MD, is a board certified doctor of internal medicine. She is a former assistant professor at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences where she worked in a clinic as a mentor and teacher and was involved in the teaching of medical residents and students. She also had her own private practice for 16 years in New Jersey.

K. George Sachariah, MD, is a board certified internal medicine and nuclear medicine doctor who also practices nuclear cardiology and has a special interest in thyroid diseases. Sachariah is a former assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He was a former chief resident in internal medicine and nuclear medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Sachariah is fellowship trained in nuclear cardiology (CBNC certified) and PET/CT scans.

Both clinics offer a variety of medical services, including services for cardiovascular diseases, upper respiratory illness, obesity, pain management, allergies, diabetes, arthritis and consultative and diagnostic medicine.

The clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The other MissionHealth clinic is located by the hospital at 906 S. Bryan Road, Suite 205, next to the hospital building.
