NOTICE OF VACANCY
The Hidalgo County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) in conjunction with the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council (LRGVDC) is advertising for the following position:
GIS Specialist
(MPO)
Base Salary Range - $30,000-$55,000
(Monthly - $2,500 - $4,583)
DUTIES: The GIS Specialist is responsible for maintaining the Arcinfo/ArcView Geographic Information System, TRANS/CAD. This position also works with transporation planning process in the MPO study area. Duties include analyzing data, converting GIS data, editing base programs like EXCEL, DBASE, INFO, and creating visualization presentations. This position may also be responsible for geographically displaying traffic counts, and collecting traffic count data.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Political Science, urban planning or a related field: or three (3) years related experience, including GIS applications. Demostrable Arcinfo/ArcView and TRANS/CAD skills are required.
